Daryeel Youth Street Outreach is the first and only streets outreach program for East African youth and young adults in Minnesota. This volunteer-based street outreach effort is essential and highly needed small effort to support and help save youth.
Through the Daryeel Street Outreach Program, volunteers support and work with youth who are dealing with substance abuse, addiction, mental illness, homelessness, and runaway youth.

Daryeel Street Outreach focuses on developing relationships between volunteer outreach workers and young people that allow them to rebuild connections with caring adults. The goal is to prevent more youth to be involved in at risk activities, while supporting and preventing the sexual exploitation and abuse of youth on the streets.
Daryeel’s Street Outreach volunteers work diligently to find accommodations for homeless youth and youth who would otherwise be stranded without assistance. Our volunteer staff hand out amenities, such as hot pizza, hot tea, sandwiches, water, socks, jackets, and blankets, to young people on the streets.
Daryeel Youth Street Outreach stands as the first and only program dedicated specifically to East African youth and young adults in Minnesota. Founded out of a pressing need, this initiative addresses the unique challenges faced by these communities, including social isolation, cultural displacement, and mental health struggles.
Our volunteer-based outreach team actively engages with young people on the streets, providing not just immediate assistance but also a compassionate ear to listen to their struggles. We distribute essential resources such as food, clothing, and hygiene supplies while connecting them to vital services that promote their overall well-being.
This grassroots effort plays a critical role in identifying at-risk individuals who may otherwise slip through the cracks of traditional support systems. By fostering a sense of community and belonging, Daryeel aims to empower these youth, helping them navigate their circumstances with hope and resilience.
The impact of our work extends beyond immediate relief; it lays the foundation for long-term positive change within the East African youth demographic in Minnesota. Through education and mentorship programs, we aspire to create pathways toward sustainable futures for these young individuals.
